Fat Joe Accused by Former Helper in $20 Million Case
The rapper known as Fat Joe (his real name is Joseph Cartagena) is in hot water. A man named Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, who used to work for Fat Joe and help get crowds excited at his shows, is suing him. This legal action, asking for $20 million, was started on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in a New York court.
Mr. Dixon says Fat Joe did some very wrong things. The most serious claims are that Fat Joe was involved with girls who were too young, meaning they were underage (like 15 or 16 years old). The lawsuit says Dixon saw these things happen. For example, it claims Fat Joe gave a 16-year-old girl money and gifts for sexual favors. It also says he met a 15-year-old girl at a concert far away, brought her to the U.S., helped pay her bills, and even paid for a type of body surgery for her.
Besides these very serious accusations about young girls, Mr. Dixon also claims Fat Joe treated him very badly. He says he was forced into unwanted sexual situations with women to keep his job, cheated out of money he earned, and wasn't given credit for helping with songs. Dixon also accuses Fat Joe of using threats and fear to control people.
Fat Joe and his lawyer say all these stories are lies. They believe Mr. Dixon is just trying to hurt Fat Joe’s reputation and get money from him. Fat Joe’s lawyer also said that Fat Joe had already sued Mr. Dixon earlier because Dixon was making similar claims online, and they think this new lawsuit is just a way for Dixon to fight back.
Tyler Perry Sued for $260 Million by Actor Claiming Bad Treatment
Tyler Perry, who makes popular movies and TV shows, is also facing a big lawsuit. An actor named Derek Dixon (this is a different person from the one suing Fat Joe) is asking for $260 million. This legal case was filed on Friday, June 13, 2025, in a court in Los Angeles. Mr. Dixon was an actor in Tyler Perry's TV show called "The Oval."
In his lawsuit, Derek Dixon says that Tyler Perry used his powerful position to try to get him to have sexual contact. Mr. Dixon claims that Perry at first promised to help his career. But then, he says, Perry started to harass him and even physically assault him when he didn't want Perry's advances.
The lawsuit gives examples, like Perry supposedly pulling off Dixon’s clothes and touching him inappropriately. It also claims Perry once got into bed with Dixon without being invited while Dixon was staying at Perry's house. Mr. Dixon says he tried to say no, but Perry supposedly threatened his job on the TV show.
Derek Dixon says he eventually moved away from Atlanta (where Perry has his studio) to get away from the situation. He also complained to a government group that helps with work problems. When he felt nothing was done, he says he quit the show, losing out on a lot of money. He also claims the stress made him sick.
Tyler Perry’s lawyer says these accusations are not true and called them a "scam." The lawyer believes this person got close to Perry just to try and make up a story to get money.
Chris Brown Says "Not Guilty" to Hurting Someone in London
Singer Chris Brown had to go to court in London on Friday, June 20, 2025. He is accused of attacking someone in a nightclub back in February 2023. Chris Brown told the judge he did not do it. His friend, a musician known as "Hoody Baby," also said he was not guilty of the same thing.
The people in charge of the case (the prosecutors) say that Chris Brown and his friend attacked a music producer named Abe Diaw at a nightclub. They claim Brown hit Mr. Diaw with a bottle and then punched and kicked him for no reason. They say there are videos of this happening. Mr. Diaw had already sued Chris Brown about this, saying Brown hit him over the head with a big tequila bottle, causing serious injuries.
Chris Brown was arrested in May 2025 when he came back to the U.K. He was let out of jail after paying a lot of money for bail (like a deposit to make sure he comes back to court). He has to stay at a specific address and give up his passport when he's not traveling for his music tour.
The court is looking into more charges against Chris Brown related to this incident. He has to go back to court on July 11, 2025. His trial for the main accusation is planned for October 2026. This isn't the first time Chris Brown has been in trouble with the law; he was found guilty of attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
These are serious situations for all three stars, and it will take time to see how these legal cases turn out.
